THE SOUNDS AND VERSES EMITTED BY BIRDS
Bird singing has always been the subject of interest from poets, writers and musicians. In reality it is a real language that is not articulated but responds to situations that occur in life such as states of danger, discomfort, aggression, request for food, courtship, etc.
Edward Neill writes in his book Music, technique and aesthetics in birdsong: "In reality, birds almost never sing for the pleasure of singing, but to communicate signals that have precise behavioral references." From the acoustic point of view, each species emits its own sounds, and this allows us to recognize the different species among themselves and to the different species, to recognize and communicate with each other this fundamental aspect for their survival and for the continuity of the species
In this column we will not analyze the different aspects related to the singing of these incredible creatures but we propose their sound to learn to recognize them and perhaps to respect them more.
Have a good listening.
