Personal example of the construction of a frame country house: from the foundation to the roof

A novice summer resident who has just bought a land plot has to think about building a small house. The choice of building materials is made taking into account the financial resources available to the developer. Low-budget projects are being built using frame technology borrowed by Russians from Western builders. Additional savings can be obtained if you build a frame country house with your own hands with the involvement of one or two helpers with a daily wage. This technology of building houses also attracts with the speed of assembly of the structure. In a few weeks, you can build an object, and after the completion of finishing work, start operating it. Wall constructions, facilitated by the use of modern insulation materials, do not require a strong foundation. The multi-layered structure of walls, floors and interfloor ceilings allows you to hide engineering communications.

Let's look at the main stages of its construction with our own hands using the example of a two-story frame house. The dimensions of the object are 5 by 10 meters. The thickness of the insulation placed in the cells of the wooden frame is 15 cm.

Stage # 1 - laying the foundation of the future home

On the land plot, there was a strip foundation from the previous structure, the dimensions of which were 5 by 7 meters. In order to save materials, the developer decided to use the existing foundation, increasing the area of the house by installing three brick pillars. The result is a combined foundation structure 5 meters wide and 10 meters long.

Important! When using an old foundation, it is recommended to free it around the perimeter from the ground half a meter deep. Apply modern waterproofing compounds to the walls, as well as protect them from the destructive effect of moisture and temperature drops with hydroglass insulation. Then the near-foundation space is covered with sand, tamped and filled from above with previously dug soil.

The fertile layer of the earth, located in the area of the foundation, is completely removed for use as intended at the summer cottage. Instead of this layer, sand is poured, which has good drainage properties. To erect a basement floor, air vents are made in the foundation and from 9 to 18 holes are drilled, which are necessary for placing anchors with studs in them. After the completion of all preparatory work, the surface of the foundation is treated with a waterproofing mixture applied in several layers. On top of the foundation, hydroglass insulation and a film are laid so that moisture does not penetrate into the basement, laid out in the course of further work from bricks. The basement height is 1 m.

Stage # 2 - installation of the basement floor

The operation for the installation of the basement floor is carried out using the platform technology. A 50-ku board and a 10 × 15 cm beam are laid on the strip foundation. Two beams are attached to the brick posts next to each other. For fastening wooden parts, studs are used, mounted in advance for these purposes. To stiffen the structure of the basement, it is necessary to install two more beams in the center of the house. Thus, the height of the strapping is 15 cm.

On top of the strapping, 50 boards are laid and fixed, keeping a distance of 60 cm between them. From the bottom of this structure, a subfloor is filled, using boards 25 mm thick for this. The resulting cells are filled with polystyrene, laid in two layers with a thickness of 5 and 10 cm. The slots between the foam and the boards are filled with polyurethane foam, after which an overlap of boards (50 × 300 mm) is arranged on top.

Installation of the base for the construction of the platform is made from a bar using anchors with studs fixed in the foundation of the house

Laying foam plates for insulating the floor of a frame house is accompanied by the obligatory foaming of tile joints and gaps between the material and the lags

Stage # 3 - erection of racks and walls

The walls are assembled on the horizontal surface of the mounted floor of the frame house. Then the modules are attached to the lower strapping made of timber. The length of the pillars of the first floor was 290 cm, taking into account the installation of a 45-cm ledger. The height of the ceilings of the premises of the first floor is 245 cm. The second floor is being built a little lower, and therefore racks with a length of 260 cm are taken. It is very difficult to install the frame racks alone, therefore an assistant is involved in this work. In a week, they carry out the installation of corner and intermediate posts of both floors, all floors and crossbars.

Important! The connection of the corner posts with the upper and lower strapping is carried out using spikes 5x5x5 cm, as well as metal connectors: brackets, plates, squares, etc. Make sure that the surfaces of the corner and intermediate posts are in the same plane within the same wall. Fulfillment of this requirement will facilitate the installation of the cladding, both internal and external, in the future.

Installation of the frame of the walls of a two-story country house is carried out by installing racks, strengthening their position with the help of slopes and horizontal beams

The distance between adjacent frame posts depends on the width of the insulation chosen for installation in the walls. Taking this requirement into account will save the developer from the need to cut the insulation, which will affect not only the speed of this stage of work, but also the thermal insulation of the facility as a whole. After all, any additional seams increase heat loss. In this project, the racks were installed at a distance of 60 cm from each other.

Stage # 4 - strengthening the frame and assembling the crossbars

Wall frames need reinforcement through the installation of struts and braces. The role of these elements is great, since they impart spatial rigidity to the frame of the house. The frontal cut is used when connecting struts with struts and strapping bars. The semi-rotary cut is used when fastening the braces. Although it is possible to carry out this operation with nails and bolts. Within one wall of a frame house, at least two struts must be installed. A large number of these parts are taken in the event that overestimated requirements are imposed on the strength stiffness of the frame being erected. The final rigidity of the frame structure will be given by:

  • overlapping;
  • internal partitions;
  • external and internal cladding.

Carrying out the construction of a country house on two floors with the need to install large floor slabs, you need to take care of the device of the crossbars. Thanks to the crossbars, it is possible to ensure the strength and rigidity of the logs laid on the second floor, as well as to exclude the likelihood of their deflection throughout the entire life of the structure. At this facility, the girder is constructed in layers, each of which consists of three 50 mm planks of the required length, fastened on the sides with 25 mm planks, launched at an angle of 45 degrees and directed in opposite directions. The construction is very durable and reliable.

Crossbar support in the frame structure. The crossbar is necessary for laying the second floor logs involved in the installation of a solid floor

The installation of horizontal crossbars is carried out over the boxes of windows and doors, thereby limiting the height of the frame in these places. These elements, along with their main function, serve as additional amplifiers in the power circuit of the wooden frame. For each window opening, it is necessary to install two bolts, and for doorways - one.

Stage # 5 - installation of the roof truss system

The construction of the roof is carried out according to the drawing developed in advance by the developer. The drawing allows you to make an accurate calculation of all the necessary building materials for the installation of the roof truss system, as well as the materials going to the roofing pie (rough coating, vapor barrier, waterproofing, topcoat, etc.). The installation of a roof, consisting of four slopes at an angle of 45 degrees, can be completed with an assistant in a week. The height of the roof above the attic floor is 150 cm. The rough covering of the bevels is made from a 25 mm board. Then the ICOPAL insulation is attached to the subfloor, and in some places it is replaced with ordinary roofing felt, nailed to the base (40 mm).

Installation of a rafter system for the selected type of roof and laying a rough covering of edged boards with a thickness of 25 mm

It is recommended to purchase Finnish roofing material, which is only slightly more expensive than domestic counterparts, but lighter and more durable to break.

Stage # 6 - sheathing of the outer walls of the frame

All frame posts are sheathed on the outside with an inch board, the thickness of which is 25 mm and the width is 100 mm. In this case, part of the cladding is attached to the frame at an angle, which makes the structure of the house even stronger. If the developer is not constrained in funds, then it is better to make the cladding from cement-bonded particle boards (DSP) or other board material. When carrying out work in cold weather, it is recommended to tighten the roof and window openings with plastic wrap until the installation of double-glazed windows and the flooring of the finishing roofing.

The installation of the outer cladding begins from the front side of the house, then goes to the sides and finishes the work on the back wall, using lumber sparingly

Stage # 7 - roofing and siding installation

Cover the roof of a two-story frame house with Tegola Alaska flexible bitumen shingles. An employee is also involved in the performance of work. For the entire roof area of a house of 5 by 10 meters, 29 packs of soft roofs are needed. Each pack is designed to cover 2.57 square meters of roof. Two workers are able to lay up to six packs of soft roofing per day.

Laying of soft roofs using Tegola bituminous shingles. Installation of a rainwater collection and drainage system

For the exterior cladding of the house, siding produced by Mitten is purchased. With the help of skillfully combined colors Ivory and Gold, it is possible to give an unusual design to a two-story country house. Mitten Gold siding is used for finishing the four corners of the house, as well as the walls under the windows. As a result, it is possible to obtain an interesting pattern that gives an unusual and stylish look to the entire structure. The cladding is carried out in several steps:

  • before installing the siding, the house is wrapped with Izospan windscreen;
  • then the crate is stuffed using 50x75 boards for this (step - 37 cm, thickness of the ventilation gap - 5 cm);
  • fastened in the corners with a size of 50x150 mm;
  • after that, the siding is attached directly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

The installation of the exterior cladding of a siding house is carried out within a few days by two workers using a metal tour purchased from a store or rented

Stage # 8 - laying insulation and lining

The walls of a two-story frame house are insulated from the inside using synthetic winterizer mats and rolls of the Shelter EcoStroy brand. The rolled material without unnecessary joints enters between the frame posts, to which it is attached with a construction stapler. It is recommended to fix the insulation to the frame details so that the material does not settle during the operation of the house. To insulate the attic floor, ecowool is used, which differs from other types of insulation in its increased sound insulation properties.

For the inner cladding of a wooden frame, grooved boards are purchased, which are nailed to the racks so that a flat wall plane is obtained. It is forbidden to allow the presence of gaps between the parts of the casing, otherwise the walls will be blown through. Next, drywall sheets are attached to a flat wall, which are pasted over with wallpaper. You can replace drywall with fiberboards or other sheet materials.

Laying the selected insulation into the cells of the wooden frame is made from inside the room, while the joints of the padding polyester slabs are glued with construction tape

List of consumables and tools

During the construction of a frame country house, the following tools were used:

  • circular saw Hitachi 7MFA;
  • saw alligator PEL-1400;
  • planer Bort 82;
  • building level;
  • screwdriver;
  • hammer, etc.

The materials used were timber, edged board, tongue-and-groove board, gypsum cardboard, insulation, fasteners: nails, screws, metal connectors, etc. Rehau double-glazed windows were inserted into the window openings. All wooden parts were treated with Snezh BIO antiseptic. During the construction of this object, the construction of scaffolding is required, as well as the purchase of a metal round.

Knowing how difficult it is to build a country house with your own hands, you can consciously decide to start work. Perhaps, in your case, it is easier to find a team of builders who know firsthand about the construction of frame houses.

Do-it-yourself shed - assembly of wall panels

I assembled the wall panel with the door from ready-made frame door lumber. I also lined the doors outside with clapboard (photo 2).

In one wall panel I inserted a ready-made window frame with dimensions of 500 x 900 mm, reinforcing it with an additional stand and jib.

I made roof trusses from bars of different cross-sections: legs - 50 x 50 mm, screeds - 80 x 50 mm, central headstock - 150 x 50 mm, and intermediate headstock - 50 x 50 mm (Fig. 2). In my opinion, such a structure, with a slight slope of the roof, provides it with the necessary strength.

It is very important that the trusses are of the same size, and the rafter legs fit exactly on the puff, which serves as the ceiling beam. Therefore, having assembled the first farm, I did everything else according to it, as in a template. The number of trusses, as well as the log for the floor, depends on the length of the structure. In my case, it was 6 m, and with a step of trusses of 1 m, there were seven of them. I covered the end trusses with clapboard.

On my site, I began the construction of the utility block by removing the top layer of earth under the building spot approximately to the depth of a shovel bayonet and filling the resulting "foundation pit" with sand, which, having wetted it with water, tamped it down.

In the corners and in the middle of the pit, he made a dense sand and gravel bed and installed monolithic concrete blocks with dimensions of 150 x 500 x 400 mm.

On these foundation blocks, through waterproofing gaskets, I made the lower piping of the utility block at the level, consisting of longitudinal support boards with a section of 150 x 50 mm with longitudinal beams with a section of 100 x 100 mm installed on them, connected by a cut in half-wood by cross beams of the same section (photo 3).

The rectangularity of the lower strapping was checked by comparing the diagonals. The correctness of the assembled lower harness was also confirmed by tightly inserted floor logs made of beams with a section of 100 x 100 mm and a length of 2800 mm.The logs, laid on the longitudinal support boards, I secured with nails 150 mm long, hammered into the end through the longitudinal beams. All the wood of the lower strapping was painted over with a protective antiseptic compound.

How to build a summer house with your own hands inexpensively: instructions, project

Having received the long-awaited suburban area, many of its owners immediately decide to acquire a house. However, building a country house, even with your own hands, is inexpensively difficult. At the same time, if we are talking about a small building, then it will take less money to build it if you do all the work yourself.

Preparation for construction

First of all, you should make a project. Considering the fact that in order to build even a small house in the country it is necessary to obtain a building permit, it is better to entrust its manufacture to specialized organizations that will make a drawing that not only meets all the norms and requirements, but also coordinate it with all the necessary authorities. If there is an approved project, it will not be difficult to obtain a building permit.

Components of a two-story summer cottage.

When developing a drawing, you should immediately decide on the material from which it is planned to build a house in the country, since the load on the foundation is calculated based on this. Each has its own pros and cons:

  1. Wood is an inexpensive and environmentally friendly material, but it requires constant care and special treatment to prevent rotting and fire.
  2. Brick is durable and solid, but expensive, and only professionals can install it with high quality.
  3. Foam blocks are easy to use, cheap, environmentally friendly and do not require heavy foundations. They have optimal thermal conductivity, but are prone to degradation.

For the construction of a small country house with your own hands, you should choose the cheapest and easiest material to process. You can build a frame house using wood and insulation or sandwich panels.

When developing a project, you can immediately estimate how much it will cost to build a house, since depending on the area of the building, the amount of materials is calculated for which it will not be difficult to find out the current prices.

Layout and construction of the foundation

There are several types of bases, but the most practical is a tape one, which will withstand and evenly distribute the load of a house built from any material. Before starting the construction of the foundation of the future summer cottage with your own hands, it is necessary to apply the markup. To do this, remove all vegetation in the place where the base of the house will be located. Many experts even recommend removing the fertile soil layer. If the land plot has obvious irregularities and slopes, then the site should first be leveled. This can be done manually or with the assistance of special equipment.

Leveling the topsoil.

After the site is prepared, the markup is done. To do this, you need to take 4 pegs, for which it is better to use reinforcing bars. Put one in the ground, marking the first corner, the length and width of the structure are measured from it and the remaining 3 pegs are installed and connected with a rope around the perimeter. The result should be a rectangle or square (depending on the project). The corners must be straight. To check for accuracy, connect opposite pegs with a rope, while both diagonals should be equal to each other.

After applying the markings, you can proceed directly to the strip foundation device. The work process will be as follows:

  1. A trench is dug 30-50 centimeters wide, depending on the thickness of the walls. The depth should be calculated in the project, taking into account the loads and the degree of soil freezing.
  2. A mixture of sand and gravel is poured into the bottom of the trench and compacted.
  3. Next, you need to install the formwork. It is made of boards and supports are installed between the walls.
  4. To give the necessary rigidity to the base, a reinforcing mesh should be made inside the formwork.
  5. Concrete mix is poured.

To gain strength, the foundation must withstand, so it is not recommended to start building walls within 30 days. It is during this period that concrete is gaining the required strength of the brand. To prevent the destruction of the foundation, it should be treated with a bituminous mixture, and the upper part of the base should be covered with roofing material, which will act as waterproofing.

Schematically, the strip foundation looks like in the presented photo:

Walling

The process will depend on the material chosen. The principle of building walls from foam blocks and bricks is similar. In this case, certain rules must be observed:

  1. Laying is done in a checkerboard pattern so that the next layer covers the vertical seam.
  2. It is necessary to start laying from the corner. First, draw the exact straight line and only then carry out the longitudinal installation of blocks or bricks.
  3. The seam thickness is 1 centimeter.
  4. The adhesive composition for foam blocks and bricks should be the same in composition throughout the entire construction process.
  5. The laying of each layer should be checked with a level and monitored for verticality.

If a decision is made to build a house out of wood, then first of all it is worth taking care of the preparation of high-quality timber. The tree should be solid, well dried, free from chips, cracks and other mechanical damage. Particular attention should be paid to the absence of blue. It is very important to fit the first crown correctly. At the corners, the beams are attached by a cut-in and fixed with long nails. Tow should be placed between each row.

There are several options for cornering the timber, which can be clearly seen in the photo:

The frame construction of a small house is considered the fastest and cheapest, especially if it is made of wood. To do this, it is necessary to install vertical corner and intermediate posts, which are attached to the foundation. In this case, a strapping of wooden beams must first be made on the base. The uprights are mounted using a metal corner or by a cut-in. To strengthen the supports, the upper strapping is made of beams along the entire perimeter. The result is a wireframe made up of rectangles. To give the structure the necessary rigidity, opposite corners are connected by diagonals from the boards. Then the voids are filled with insulation, for example, foam or mineral wool.

The process of building a house from sandwich panels can be seen in the video:

Roof construction

There are several types of roofs. Flat ones are made quickly and easily, but subsequently require constant maintenance, since snow and water will constantly linger on the surface, and the risk of leakage is quite high.

Shed or gable roofs are considered the most practical and cheapest for a small country house. The construction process is simple, and you can do it yourself. To do this, the following sequence must be observed:

  1. The Mauerlat installation is the base of the roof, which is a wooden beam mounted on opposite walls.
  2. Next is the installation of the rafter system, the order of which will whistle from the selected type of roof. To create a gable, it is necessary to fix vertical rafters on the Mauerlat with a step of 0.8-1 meter, connecting them at the top with a ridge beam.
  3. On top of the rafters, a crate is made of boards about 4 centimeters thick.
  4. Waterproofing, for example, roofing felt, is laid on the frame.

You can choose any material for the roof. A cheaper option is slate. More expensive and, at the same time, having an attractive appearance is a metal tile or ondulin.

Schematically, the gable roof device looks like in the photo:

On this, the main construction of the cottage can be considered completed. All that remains is to insert windows and doors, make internal partitions, and also finish the facade.

Country house with your own hands, instructions

The dacha is still the dream of many townspeople. Oh, how you want to escape from the hectic megalopolis life for a few days and completely devote yourself to communication with nature and households. Buying a plot is not a problem now, but for the complete comfort of spending time on it, you definitely need to build a house.

You don't have to chase a local leader and kick out something akin to a palace. This is now difficult to surprise. It is much more interesting to make not a pompous, but a cozy house, and with such an atmosphere that one does not want to leave it. This will become possible if you are ready to work on its construction and decoration with a soul, and we will show you how to build a country house with your own hands.

Seat selection

Having decided to put a house on the site, do not rush to dig a foundation pit. The land is, of course, yours, but the general building rules will have to be observed. Legal acts say that a house can be supplied:

1. Not closer than 5 meters from the street.

2. At least 3 meters from the carriageway.

3. At a distance of 3 meters from the neighboring building.

Rules for the location of the country house on the site

See what you get. If the construction site falls on a low ground, an alternative will need to be sought. Putting a house in a hole is nonsense. It will be constantly heated by either rain or melt water. We need to find a place on a hill. It is good if it is located in the northwestern part of the site. If the terrain is completely flat, get ready to equip a serious drainage system.

Several successful projects of country houses

The compactness of the structure is not a reason to give up comfort. Even the smallest area can be planned so that the house has a kitchen, rooms, and a luxurious veranda. The latter, by the way, will be the most favorite place for family gatherings.

Looking through typical projects, it is impossible not to notice that the leading place is occupied by one-story buildings with attics. A time-tested option that has a development perspective. The presence of an attic will allow you to abandon the utility block, because you can store tools and auxiliary things in its dry and rationally equipped space. Open terraces are often attached to such a house, which in the summertime become a cozy dining room.

Project of a one-story country house with an attic

The construction of an attic will help to expand the usable area of the country house. At the same time, you do not have to finish building a full second floor. It will be enough just to change the configuration of the roof and slightly raise it. In such a layout, it is rational to move the bedrooms upstairs, leaving the first floor for a spacious kitchen and a small living room.

Attic bedroom

High-tech houses look unusual and stylish. They are distinguished by precise architecture geometry and flat roofs.

High-tech country house

The idea of twin houses is interesting. In addition to the main building, a small copy of it is placed on the site. This is true for those who like to relax in big noisy companies. In this case, a guest house with separate two-level rooms will come in handy. You will not embarrass your guests, and they, in turn, you.

Houses - twins at their summer cottage

Prefabricated structures

Prefabricated country houses have long ceased to be unattractive, monotonous parallelepipeds. Modern manufacturers offer one / two-story buildings with an improved layout that are very original in architectural design. It is a pleasure to build a house of this type. In fact, you acquire a kind of building constructor, for assembling an object from the elements of which you do not need to have specific skills.

Country house of prefabricated type

It is noteworthy that in prefabricated houses, communication systems are initially provided.

3. Air conditioning systems.

Country house communications

This will save you from global mistakes in their arrangement, so often made by beginners when building a country house with their own hands. Inside the building are provided:

Layout of a prefab country house

The availability of electricity and heating will allow you to fully use the house for living, even on cold winter days.

For complete comfort in the assembled country house, ceilings are trimmed (most often with suspended systems), a shower cabin, a water heater, and other necessary plumbing are installed. It remains to breathe life into it, filling the interior with furniture, cute little things, and you can move in.

House from a bar

An excellent choice would be to build a house from a bar. For these purposes, both its profiled variety and glued ones are suitable. The option is economical, since the building does not require global finishing work and is environmentally friendly, because there will always be a comfortable microclimate inside. Joy will be overshadowed only by the complexity of the construction. Most likely, you will have to ask for professional help in this matter.

House made of stone

Stone houses in summer cottages are a real luxury. These are the strongest and most durable buildings. Yes, you will have to spend a lot of money on their construction, but it will also serve you housing for a long time and righteously. The working material can be:

Construction of a country house made of foam concrete

House of aerated concrete blocks

Country house made of shell rock

It is almost impossible to build an object of such a volume on your own in a short time, so if you do not want to get a half-century long-term construction on the site, it is better to immediately hire a team of qualified bricklayers.

House of frame assembly

Such projects are a real lifesaver, as they belong to the category of low-budget ones. In addition, it is quite possible to cope with their construction on your own. Their assembly technology is simple and fast. Some points, of course, will require additional hands, but this does not mean that you need to call the construction team for help. You can easily get by with a couple of helpers hired on a daily basis. If you get down to business with a spark, then your country house will be ready in a few weeks. Accelerated finishing - and you can start to operate it. For lightweight walls, you will not need to lay a powerful foundation, and the multilayer floor and interfloor floors will make it possible to hide pipes and utility lines.

How to build a frame-type country house with your own hands

We will consider technological issues during the construction of a two-story building. The size of the object is 5x10m. The thickness of the insulation used in this case is 15 cm.

Step 1 - foundation

If you are lucky, and the strip foundation was already poured on the site by the former owners, then you can simply adjust its perimeter by increasing or decreasing the size. The easiest way to add length and width is columnar technology. As a result, you will get, albeit a combined, but rather solid foundation for the forcing of the walls. the old foundation is a good idea to additionally protect. To do this, it is freed from the adjacent soil to about half a meter in depth and a waterproofing composition is applied to the walls.

Pouring strip foundation

After drying, the foundation is covered with hydroglass. The open near-foundation space is filled with sand, which will need to be well tamped. It will act as a natural drainage. Now you can return to the place and the harvested soil.

In the case when everything has to start from scratch, the first step is to remove fertile soil from the site chosen for construction. He is sent to the garden for rational use.Sand is poured instead of the earth layer.

Laying strip foundations for a country house

We mark the site and dig a ditch according to the shape of the future foundation. We make the formwork and fill it in one of the available ways. The easiest way is to work with tape technology. The surface of the hardened base is also carefully waterproofed. To put a basement ceiling, you need to make air vents in the foundation, into which anchors with studs will be installed. On average, 9-12 such holes are required. The basement part of the wall must also be protected from getting wet, so the foundation is covered with hydroglass and film. The basement of the frame house is made of bricks and has a height of 1 meter.

Basement waterproofing

Step 2 - assembling the basement floor

The basement slab should be installed according to the "platform" technological scheme. If the foundation is columnar, then the beams are attached in pairs to each column. A board of 50 or beams with a section of 10x15 cm can be placed on the tape. wooden elements are fixed with studs, the installation of which was mentioned above. The construction of the basement floor must have a certain rigidity. Beams installed in the center of the house will help to give it. The height of the harness should be 15 cm.

Installation of the basement floor

Thick boards will be laid on top of it, with a step distance of 60 cm. The bottom of the system should be a subfloor. It is laid from 25 mm planks. As a result, you should get a cellular base. The filling of the cells will be polystyrene of 5 and 10 mm thickness. It is laid in layers. The remaining slots are sealed with polyurethane foam. The final floor can now be laid.

Basement overlap scheme

Step 3 - pulling out the walls

We will assemble the walls on the surface of the finished floor of our frame house. The resulting modules are fixed to the bottom of the bar strapping. The length of the racks, taking into account the girder, will be equal to 290 cm. The estimated height of the ceiling of the first floor is not less than 245 cm. The next floor can be made slightly lower. The frame wall is quite voluminous and it is better not to try to install it alone. At this stage of construction, it is rational to involve assistants. Installation of corner and interior walls will take about a week.

Assembling the walls of a country house

It is important to correctly connect the corner zones with the cross-braces. For reliable fixation use:

It is necessary to monitor the verticality of the walls and intermediate racks. All structures must be in the same plane. You will understand why this is important at the stage of sheathing. When assembling the frame, a gap must remain between the adjacent posts, the width of which will be equal to the thickness of the insulation, which is planned to be laid in the wall. With this approach, you will avoid the hassle of cutting insulation boards or gluing them together, which, by the way, will have a positive effect not only on the speed of installation work, but also on the quality of the object's thermal insulation. The absence of unnecessary seams and joints minimizes heat loss.

Assembly diagram of a frame country house

Step 4 - strengthening the frame

The wall frame must have a margin of safety, which can be given to it by supplementing the structure with struts and braces. The role of such components can hardly be overestimated. They form the spatial rigidity of the skeleton. The connection of the struts with the bar strapping and uprights is made by means of a frontal cut. The braces are introduced by a semi-rotary cut or fastened with banal nails and bolts. Each wall surface must have at least two struts. Obviously, a greater number of details appear in the event that increased requirements are imposed on the frame of the prefabricated house with respect to strength rigidity. Ceilings, wall cladding, and internal partitions will become additional guarantors of the strength of the house.

Corner joints in a frame house

When conducting the construction of a two-story country house, there will certainly be a need for the installation of interfloor ceilings. Since the x area will be large enough in our case, you will have to insure their strength by arranging the crossbars. The elements will make the logs more reliable, rigid and durable. They will eliminate the danger of their deflection throughout the entire operational life of the house. At our facility, the girders will be layered. For their construction, fifty millimeter boards will be used, fastened to the sides by boards of half the smaller section. Horizontal ledgers are installed above window openings and in the area of doors. In the first case, two x are required, in the second, one reinforcing structure is sufficient.

Step 5 - installing the roof

The roof structure in a frame house consists of a rafter system and the roofing part itself. The latter is multi-layered and resembles a pie in its structure. Consisting of:

The rafter system is assembled according to a previously developed project. The consumption of materials is also calculated on it. The optimal height of the attic space is 150 cm. The ideal shape of the roof is four-pitched, although any solution can be provided for by the project. Roof installation takes about a week on average. The rough layer is assembled from 25 mm boards. It will form the basis for fixing the insulation. ICOPAL can be replaced with a banal roofing felt, which is fixed with nails "magpie". It is better to give preference to Finnish-made material, which is characterized by fracture strength and is lighter. Don't worry about the difference in price. You will not overpay much for the latter.

Step 6 - wall cladding

The erected frame of the house should be sheathed with an inch board. In this case, part of the cladding material must be attached at a certain angle in order to add reliability to the house structure. If there is a financial opportunity, then instead of a board, it is better to sheathe the house with cement-particle boards or other type of board material.

If the house is being built in the off-season, then before glazing and installing the doors, all openings should be tightened with a dense film. The delivered roof truss system can be protected in the same way if it does not already have a roof covering. The cladding work always starts at the façade and continues along the side walls. The back of the house is the last to be closed up.

Step 7 - finishing work

Your country house is almost ready. It began to strain itself a little and give it an aesthetic look. The first is to carry out the roofing work. The best material for decorating roof slopes is flexible bituminous shingles. Here you will need an assistant again. To cover a frame house of our size, you will need 29 packages of soft roofing. The content of one such pack is designed for a surface finish of 2.57 m2. Working with a partner, you can cover up to 15-18 square meters of roof per day.

Shingle roof

Work begins in the middle of the slope. The first row of tiles is laid out horizontally. It should lie parallel to the ridge-roofing one. The second row will already fit from the center to the sides, while the shingle will have to be shifted by half the petal. In order for the roof to turn out beautiful, you need to follow the straightness of the rows. This will help the pre-made marking of the base by pulling the threads or beating with a lace.

Fix the soft tiles with ordinary nails. It is important to hammer them strictly perpendicularly, and do this so that the head does not cut into the shingle, but is flush with the main surface.

Roofing works with flexible tiles are carried out at a temperature not lower than + 20o, and the working day is divided into 2 halves: morning and evening. The time of the sun at its zenith drops out of the graph. In extreme heat, special scaffolds should be used to move around the already paved areas. This will prevent deformation of the roof surface.

Particular attention to the removal of passages (pipes, chimneys). Before installation, the parts are lubricated with bitumen mastic and securely fixed to the base of the roof. The exit point is also treated with a bituminous compound and the roofing material is already laid on it. For a snug fit, the shingles should be trimmed, which is done directly on site.

Chimney installation in bituminous shingles

The final stage of the roofing work will be the installation of the ridge aerator. This element is necessary for the unhindered exit of air from under the roofing space.

Ridge Roof Aerator

A bed with a clearance of 3-8 cm is cut out along the ridge along the wooden roof deck. The aerator is fastened with galvanized self-tapping screws. This is followed by a protective layer of ridge-cornice tiles. Do not forget about the need to install a gutter system on the roof.

The roof is ready. It's time to start decorating the walls. It is rational to produce external cladding of frame structures with siding. A clever combination of its colors will help make your house irresistible, original and easily recognizable against the general background of buildings. A brighter color is to highlight the corners of the house and the area of the walls under the window openings.

Finishing a frame house with siding

The cladding is done step by step. Before fixing the siding, the walls are literally wrapped with a special windproof material such as "Izospan". A crate is stuffed over it. The step distance for fixing the boards is 37 cm, the ventilation gap is 5 cm.

Now you can start fixing the cladding panels. This part of the work will take several days. You can't do without a metal tour. It does not have to be purchased. This type of forest can be rented.

Step 8 - interior cladding

Internal cladding should be started with wall insulation. Sintepon mats or roll insulation are suitable. The latter, in this case, are preferable, since they do not form unnecessary joints. The insulation layer is carried out between the racks of the frame base and fixed with a construction stapler. Butt seams are additionally insulated with tape. This must be done so that the insulation does not settle during the operational period. The attic floor is insulated with ecowool, which, moreover, serves as an excellent sound insulator.

Internal cladding is done with a grooved board, on top of which drywall sheets will be installed. An alternative to the latter can be chipboard and other sheet materials. It remains to decorate the interior beautifully, bring in furniture and you can celebrate a housewarming.

Old-fashioned walkers and expensive vases will help to emphasize the rarity of the furnishings. Floral patterns, geometric ornaments, avant-garde paintings are held in high esteem.
