Grade originator: VNIIKH im. A.G. Lorkha, Kemerovo Research Institute of Agriculture. The State Variety Commission included the Lyubava potatoes in the plant register in 2003 in the West Siberian region. It is bred as an early ripe table variety for general consumption. This potato is successfully planted in the Urals, Eastern Siberia and the Far East. You can not mention the southern regions, everything is planted there, including Lyubava.

The bush is of medium height, semi-erect, with small leaves. Few medium-sized flowers with a reddish-purple corolla. Shoots appear amicably. You can eat early potatoes already 45 days after planting.

The Lyubava tuber is oval, the eyes are located at an average depth. The skin is red - medium to rough to the touch. The pulp is white, with a high starch content of 11 to 17%. In one bush, up to 20 potatoes of almost the same size are formed, the weight ranges from 109 to 210 grams. Full maturation in 70–75 days. Planting dates are the same as for other varieties - when the earth warms up and the danger of recurrent frosts is over.

The variety has a good taste. The high starch content allows for a fluffy puree. This potato is good in any form: fried, baked, boiled and stewed. The number of harvested tubers is 10–20 times more than planted. Lyubava gratefully responds to the application of organic fertilizers.

The Lyubava variety is well stored until spring, without requiring special conditions. It is highly resistant to cancer, which is considered the most dangerous for potatoes.

Susceptibility to late blight is moderate. If preventive measures are not taken, then the leaves can be affected by this fungus. The tubers are more resilient, but should still be cut and topped before harvesting. It can be affected by the golden cyst nematode, therefore pest control is necessary.

Cyst is translated from Greek as a bubble. It is a strong protective shell that protects microorganisms during adverse periods. In such a "bubble" the nematode perfectly tolerates winter frosts and summer drought.

The oval-shaped roots have a smooth yellow peel. The eyes on the roots are very small. The average weight of one tuber can vary from 92 to 175 g. The pulp is light yellow in color. The starch content is about 16.2%. "Miranda" is a table variety, has excellent taste and high commercial qualities.

The resistance of this variety to the causative agent of potato cancer, which is widespread in our country, as well as to the golden potato cyst nematode, is quite high.


Step 1: Choosing the type and size of oven bricks

First of all, you need to decide on the central building material - brick. If you don't have a lot of money, buy traditional ceramic material. As a rule, its dimensions are unchanged - 23 x 1.2 x 6.5 cm.

Advice. If you decide to use an affordable ceramic brick, take care of its resistance to high humidity and temperature extremes - cover the material with a special compound. For example, it can be a heat-resistant varnish for a brick oven - it will allow the finished structure to withstand the difficult conditions of the bath for many years without any problems.

But nevertheless, experts recommend using a more hardy brick for the construction of the furnace - refractory chamotte, straw color. It is much more reliable than ceramic, as it is produced by pressing and firing at the highest possible temperatures. Its sizes are presented in three versions:

  • standard - 23 x 12.5 x 6.5 cm
  • narrowed - 23 x 11.4 x 6.5 cm
  • reduced narrowed - 23 x 11.4 x 4 cm.

When buying, pay attention that fireclay bricks are solid - without the slightest voids.

When finished with the lining, fit the fire door. Fasten it with the familiar wire, but not in single pieces, but in triple pieces. After that, you need to lay a new brick row. Then proceed with the arrangement of the stone storage chamber. It is desirable that the height of the chamber is no more than 50 cm, otherwise the cobblestones will heat up unevenly - the heat will concentrate on the lower stones, not reaching the upper ones. Be sure to finish the chamber structure with heat-reflecting steel sheets. Next, fit the second grate.

Ready brick oven for a bath

Subsequently, build up brick rows. Do not forget to leave an opening for steam - no more than 50 cm wide.This opening will be absolutely sufficient for replacing stones or performing repair work, for example, in case of damage to the internal walls of the structure. The opening must be at least 5 rows high - as soon as you finish laying them, close the remaining opening with a special door.

When you receive the oven of the previously conceived dimensions, cover it on top with a sheet of steel with a circular hole made. Fit the roof corners and protect them with bricks. Next, go to the arrangement of the chimney.

The final stage is the installation of a storage tank for water and its connection to the furnace by means of metal-plastic pipes.
