04 May 2014: we returned to Gafsa and from here we will go Sbeitla, which can be reached after about three and a half hours by bus. We stayed at the very comfortable Hotel de Jenuesse, left our luggage and went to visit the Roman and Byzantine remains. The archaeological site is very extensive, with the Arch of Diocletian, a paved square, the Capitol is formed by three side-by-side temples dedicated to Giove, Juno and Minerva, the Roman Theater, the Porta di Antonino Pio, public fountains, oil mill, water tanks . There are also many Christian monuments, the Church of Bellator, with its mosaics, the Church of Vitalis with its baptismal font in mosaic. In short, a nice dive into the past, which gives strong emotions.
